CPR and AED Certification Classes Near Fredericksburg, Virginia

You might need CPR certification for a job in healthcare, child care or coaching. Or you might just want to know what to do in an emergency. Either way, there are several places in the Fredericksburg area to take a class. Here's where to go, what each one offers and how to sign up. Prices and schedules change often, so confirm them when you register.

Which class do you need?

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): the American Heart Association course meant for healthcare workers, including nurses, EMTs and dental staff.

  • Heartsaver CPR AED / First Aid: for everyone else, including teachers, coaches, workplace safety teams and parents.

  • Blended learning: you do the coursework online, then go in person for a short hands-on skills check.

Before you sign up, ask your employer or school which card they accept: American Heart Association, Red Cross or another provider. Most CPR cards have to be renewed every two years.

FAQ

Is an online-only CPR card valid?

Most employers and licensing boards won't accept a card unless it includes an in-person skills check. AHA blended courses and RQI stations include one. Check with your employer before you pay for a course that's online only.

How much does a class cost?

It depends on the provider and the course, and none of the local providers above post a single set price. Call or check when you register.

How long does certification last?

AHA and Red Cross CPR cards are usually good for two years.
